automated KYB/KYC verification

June brought stronger automation, transparency, and flexibility across the Akurateco platform. Key updates included automated KYB/KYC verification, enhanced antifraud rules, DCC commission visibility, transaction-level callbacks, expanded S2S APM status checks, COF for debits, improved recurring payment visibility, merchant data exports, smarter reporting, and flexible Surcharge ranges.

Next up: more automation, broader global coverage, and smarter tools for scalable payment growth. 🚀

Product Updates Digest

We’ve added 6 new and updated 8 connectors.

Automated Merchant Onboarding & KYB/KYC Verification

The platform now supports integration with an external KYB/KYC verification provider for automated merchant onboarding. In addition to custom onboarding questionnaires, merchants can now be checked automatically across international compliance, credit, and sanctions databases.

This includes verification of legal entities, UBOs, and company documents, helping businesses perform proper compliance checks during onboarding.

Business impact:

Faster merchant activation, reduced manual compliance effort, stronger KYB/KYC controls, and safer merchant portfolio growth.

DCC & Exchange Commission Transparency

Dynamic Currency Conversion has been enhanced with exchange commission visibility at checkout. Payers can now see the original payment amount, the converted amount in their card currency, and the Exchange Commission applied to the conversion.

Business impact:

More transparent cross-border payments, improved payer trust, and additional monetization opportunities through conversion commissions.

Enhanced Antifraud Controls

The antifraud module now supports blacklisting by email domain, allowing merchants to block suspicious or fake domains in bulk instead of adding individual email addresses manually.

The platform also supports declining payments based on External MPI responses. If the returned 3DS flow does not match the merchant’s required flow, for example Frictionless instead of Challenge, the transaction can be declined.

Business impact:

Stronger fraud prevention, easier blacklist management, more flexible 3DS risk control, and improved payment security.

Merchant API & Processing Flexibility

Merchant API capabilities have been expanded to support more flexible transaction processing.

Merchants can now send a callback or notification URL directly in the request payload, allowing a separate notification URL for each transaction instead of relying only on a static URL from the admin panel.

The S2S APM protocol has been extended with GET_TRANS_STATUS by Order ID, giving merchants an additional way to check transaction status.

Card-on-File support has also been expanded for debit transactions, and ASCII transliteration has been added to merchant mapping to convert diacritics and special characters before sending data to connectors.

Business impact:

More flexible integrations, easier transaction tracking, broader COF usage, better connector compatibility, and improved payment reliability.

Recurring Payments & Subscription Visibility

Recurring Schedule transactions now include the payment order within the subscription cycle. For example, the system can show whether a transaction is the first, second, fourth, or any other scheduled payment in a subscription.

Business impact:

Clearer subscription tracking, easier support and reconciliation, and better visibility into recurring billing flows.

Merchant Configuration Export & Audit Support

Merchant-related entities and associated configuration data can now be exported from the system in JSON or Excel format.

This allows clients to download merchant settings and related data for internal review, audits, or regulatory reporting.

Business impact:

Simpler audit preparation, better configuration transparency, and stronger operational control.

Reporting & Decline Management Improvements

The Approval Ratio by BIN report export has been extended with additional data, including MID and merchant information, giving teams more detail for performance analysis.

Decline Reason Management now supports batch import of decline translations, reducing the need to add translations manually one by one.

Business impact:

More detailed approval analysis, faster decline reason configuration, reduced manual work, and better reporting quality.

Flexible Surcharge Configuration

As part of the ongoing Surcharge implementation, the platform now supports amount-based surcharge ranges.

Merchants can configure thresholds and apply either percentage-based or fixed-amount surcharge rules depending on the transaction amount.

Business impact:

More flexible pricing logic, better fee control, and improved support for complex merchant pricing models.
