digest september 20206

September brought a new round of improvements focused on giving payment teams more precision across risk management, reporting, billing, 3DS flows, and merchant configuration.

This month, we introduced more granular antifraud settings, expanded dispute and AML capabilities, improved payer return flows, added external MPI support, and made billing and reconciliation more flexible. We also streamlined everyday operational tasks with better filters, clearer decline handling, merchant-level controls, and more configurable recurring payment scenarios.

The result: less time spent on manual adjustments, more control over complex payment setups, and smoother operations across the platform.

Next up: more improvements designed to simplify payment management while keeping teams in control.

Product Updates Digest

Weโ€™ve added 17 new and updated 4 connector.

โ–บ Improved Return Flow to Merchant Applications

Akurateco has improved payer redirects back to merchant websites and apps when delays occur on the provider or acquirer side. Since application tabs can block the standard return flow, the platform now uses a custom fallback button to help the payer get back to the app.

Business impact:
Smoother payer journeys and fewer redirect-related errors caused by provider delays or application limitations.

โ–บ Extended Report Analytics Filters

Report Analytics now provides easier access to key reports and filters, including Debit Report, Sale Report, Decline Reasons, Approval Ratio by BIN, and other transaction-level analytics.

Business impact:
Faster access to operational insights and less time spent switching between separate reporting views.

โ–บ External MPI Support for S2S Card

Merchants using S2S Card flows can now work with an external MPI and pass the resulting 3DS data to Akurateco.

This applies to S2S integrations where the merchant or upstream platform controls the MPI. Checkout is not included, as card data required for MPI processing is not exposed on the merchant side.

Business impact:
Greater control over 3DS architecture and more flexible integrations for PSPs and platforms using their own MPI.

โ–บ Balancing Across MIDs With and Without External MPI

Akurateco can now balance transactions across MIDs that use either an internal or external MPI.

The platform determines which 3DS setup applies before processing starts, so the payer is routed through the correct authentication flow and is not sent through 3DS twice.

Business impact:
Smoother 3DS processing, fewer duplicate authentication attempts, and more reliable balancing across mixed MID configurations.

What Else is New?

September kept Akurateco active across MENA and the wider payments ecosystem, with the team attending Money20/20 Middle East in Riyadh and Seamless Middle East in Dubai, where conversations centered on local acquiring, licensing, and regional payment infrastructure. The month also brought a new viaSocket ร— Akurateco integration, connecting the platform with 2,300+ apps for no-code automation, Volodymyr Kuiantsevโ€™s insights in Entrepreneur Middle East on entering Qatar and Saudi Arabia, and a developer experience update featured by Financial IT, making Akurateco documentation directly accessible to MCP-compatible AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor.
