Akurateco Digest August 2026

August was all about making everyday payment operations easier to configure, manage, and scale. We introduced updates across recurring payments, routing, reporting, merchant management, integrations, and transaction analysis — with a strong focus on flexibility, automation, and reducing repetitive operational work.

From smarter cascading setups and more adaptable approval ratio calculations to improved subscription flows, MID management, and new integration capabilities, the platform continues to give payment teams more control without adding complexity.

Next up: more ways to automate operations, fine-tune payment flows, and scale with less friction. 🚀

Product Updates Digest

We’ve added 8 new and updated 8 connector.

Advanced Financial Reconciliation with Acquirers

Akurateco now supports full financial reconciliation with acquirers based on their specific reconciliation file formats.

The platform automatically compares acquirer data with transactions recorded in Akurateco and verifies key transaction details, including amount, currency, status, settled amount, and other relevant parameters.

Business impact:

More accurate and automated reconciliation, faster identification of discrepancies, less manual transaction matching, and greater visibility into settlement data.

Flexible Subscription Consent on Checkout

Checkout now supports a configurable subscription checkbox for recurring payment scenarios.

Merchants can pass the payer’s consent through the corresponding parameter and determine whether the transaction should follow the recurring flow or be processed as a regular Sale transaction.

Business impact:

More transparent subscription enrollment, greater control over recurring payment flows, clearer payer consent, and more flexible Checkout configurations.

DMS Support for Server-to-Server APM Flows

The platform and API documentation have been updated to support Dual Message System (DMS) scenarios for server-to-server Alternative Payment Method integrations.

This is particularly useful for APMs that function similarly to card payments while not providing direct access to card data.

Business impact:

More flexible APM integrations, broader support for authorization and capture scenarios, and easier implementation of complex payment flows.

SMS Notifications Integration

Akurateco has expanded its SMS communication capabilities to support payment-related notifications.

The new functionality enables payment information, including customer receipts, to be sent directly via SMS.

Business impact:

More flexible customer communications, faster delivery of payment information, improved payer experience, and stronger support for markets where SMS remains an important communication channel.

Flexible Approval Ratio Calculation

The Analytics functionality now supports alternative methods for calculating approval ratio.

Clients can configure the criteria used in the calculation instead of relying on a single predefined approach, allowing the metric to better reflect their specific processing setup.

Business impact:

More accurate performance measurement, greater reporting flexibility, and more relevant approval-rate analytics.

Reusable MID Presets for Cascading

MID configurations used in cascading can now be saved as reusable presets.

Organizations processing multiple merchants with similar cascading logic can configure a scheme once and then select the corresponding preset for another merchant instead of rebuilding it manually.

Business impact:

Faster merchant configuration, less repetitive manual work, more consistent cascading setups, and easier management of large merchant portfolios.

MID Limit Alerts

The platform can now generate alerts when a MID reaches or approaches its configured processing limit.

This gives operational teams better visibility into MID utilization and helps them react before a limit affects transaction processing.

Business impact:

Earlier detection of capacity issues, lower risk of interrupted processing, and more proactive MID management.

Bulk Merchant Mapping Management

Merchant Mapping can now be created and edited in bulk.

Instead of updating mappings individually, users can manage multiple merchant configurations together, simplifying the administration of larger merchant structures.

Business impact:

Faster configuration updates, fewer repetitive actions, easier management of multiple entities, and lower operational overhead.

Extended Timeframe for Card Usage Routing Rules

The Card usage within period condition in custom routing now supports a 72-hour timeframe.

The extended period gives clients more flexibility when building routing rules based on previous card activity.

Business impact:

More granular routing strategies, greater flexibility in transaction evaluation, and better control over card-usage-based processing logic.

GET_TRANS_STATUS Response Extended for APMs

The GET_TRANS_STATUS response for Alternative Payment Methods now includes the transaction amount.

The additional parameter gives clients more transaction information directly within the status response and can simplify transaction matching and downstream processing.

Business impact:

More complete API responses, easier transaction reconciliation, fewer additional data requests, and simpler APM integrations.

Improved Transaction Log Navigation

Transaction logs have been updated to make processing information easier to review and analyze.

The improved presentation helps users understand what happened during a transaction and navigate the corresponding processing details more efficiently.

Business impact:

Faster transaction analysis, easier troubleshooting, and clearer visibility into payment processing.

Configurable Return URL Domains for White-Label Environments

White-label environments now support selecting the domain used for return URLs.

This gives clients more control over payer redirects and helps keep payment journeys aligned with the appropriate white-label domain.

Business impact:

Greater flexibility in white-label configurations, more consistent branding, and better control over payer redirect flows.

Enhanced Card Data Validation and Token Retrieval

We introduced additional card data validation and expanded card token management capabilities.

Card tokens stored in the Akurateco platform can now be retrieved at any time through a GET request, giving clients direct access to saved tokens whenever they are needed for further payment operations.

Business impact:

More reliable card data handling, easier access to stored card tokens, and more flexible management of recurring and repeat-payment flows.

Himyan Card Brand Support

Himyan has been added as a supported card brand, extending the range of card schemes recognized by the platform.

Business impact:

Broader card-brand coverage and better support for merchants operating in markets where Himyan cards are used.

Configurable CVV Requirement for Subsequent COF CIT Payments

Merchants can now configure CVV collection as mandatory for subsequent Card-on-File Customer-Initiated Transactions processed through Sale and Debit.

While CVV is generally not required for subsequent COF transactions, some acquirers may require it in specific processing scenarios, for example for particular MCCs. The new option allows merchants to enable CVV collection when such requirements apply.

Business impact:

Greater flexibility in meeting acquirer-specific processing requirements, better support for merchant-specific scenarios, and easier configuration of compliant COF payment flows.

What Else is New?

August kept Akurateco busy with industry conversations, regional market insights, and new partnerships. The month included the viaSocket × Akurateco integration, Andrew Riabchuk’s conversation with LATAM Commerce on scaling payment infrastructure across complex markets, and Akurateco’s insights on entering Qatar’s regulated payments landscape, featured by Finance Magnates ahead of Seamless Middle East 2026.

The month also brought new conversations around payment orchestration, AI in payment infrastructure, local payment methods, routing, and acquiring, alongside a new issue of Anastasiia Brener’s PSP Academy and fresh educational content from the Akurateco team.
